This is Just a Stop Gap

This is just a stop gap

To keep the chain from breaking

Words to fill empty spaces

No link shall be forsaken

This is a just stop gap to

a sequence that never dies

But series comprised of stop gaps are

just streaks chock full of lies

So, yes, it’s just a stop gap, but

tomorrow will resume

A better day to start again

With ideas fresh and new

And with the gaps all stopped and full

There’s hardly an excuse

To waste away, procrastinate

On what you need to do

So use the stop gap, tried and true

I really hope you do

You just might find it buys you time

To pause... and continue.
